Do dinosaurs exist?
Yes, they certainly did! The Bible mentions in Genesis 1:24 that all land animals were created on Day Six. Dinosaurs can also be found on Noah’s ark, after all God sent two of every land animal onto the Ark. It is likely that the vast majority of dinosaurs died in the Great Flood during Noah’s time and hence, this explains the finding of dinosaur fossils all around the world. Those that survived the Great Flood could have gone extinct as a result of the new competitive landscape formed thereafter. In fact, Joshua 40:15-24 described a huge animal called “behemoth” who moved his tail like a Cedar Tree and ate like an ox! The description seems to fit that of a dinosaur like the Brachiosaurus. Amazing indeed!
Q: Why does God allow sicknesses and diseases?
We need to understand that we live in a fallen world, physical death was a direct consequence of the sin of Adam in disobeying God (Romans 5:12). Diseases like plagues, boils and fever etc as described in Deuteronomy 28 can lead to physical death. As God is a sovereign God, He allows sicknesses and diseases to happen in our fallen world. But the source of them is not God but rather the Devil. It was Satan who caused Job to be afflicted with painful sores as evident in Job 2:7-8.
Q: Is it a sin for a Christian to drink alcoholic beverages?
Strictly speaking, the Bible does not forbid Christians from drinking beer, wine or any other alcoholic beverage. In fact, alcohol is described in positive terms in Ecc 9:7 i.e drinking wine is associated with a merry heart. BUT the Bible is very clear that we should avoid drunkenness (Eph 5:18). We are also not to allow our physical bodies to be “mastered” by any form of addiction. Drinking alcohol excessively can become an addiction. We should also be careful not to stumble others who are weaker/younger in faith with our alcohol consumption. (1 Corinthians 8:9-13)
